Code of conduct

All workers must :

  • Treat participants with respect and dignity
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Provide supports safely and ethically
  • Avoid discrimination or abuse
  • Follow NDIS Code of Conduct

Incident Management Policy

All incidents, injuries, accidents or concerns must be:

  • Reported immediately
  • Documented in an Incident Report Form
  • Reviewed by management
  • Managed to reduce future risks

Complaints Policy

Participants have the right to:

  • Make complaints safely
  • Be treated fairly
  • Receive timely responses
  • Escalate concerns if unresolved

Privacy & Confidentiality Policy

Family First Care protects participant information by:

  • Keeping records secure
  • Sharing information only with consent
  • Following Australian privacy laws

Work Health & Safety (WHS)

Workers must:

  • Identify hazards
  • Use safe work practices
  • Report unsafe environments
  • Maintain clean and safe work conditions

Household Tasks Procedure

Support workers may assist participants with:

  • Cleaning
  • Laundry
  • Dishwashing
  • Organising the home
  • Basic household maintenance

Workers must use safe cleaning products and follow hygiene practices.

Community Access Procedure

Support workers may assist participants to:

  • Attend appointments
  • Participate in social activities
  • Go shopping
  • Access community services

Transport Policy

Workers providing transport must:

  • Hold a valid driver licence
  • Maintain safe and registered vehicles
  • Follow road safety laws
  • Keep transport records

Daily Activities Support

Workers may assist with:

  • Meal preparation
  • Daily routines
  • Personal support
  • Encouraging independence

Staff Screening

All workers must maintain:

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (if required)
  • Police Check
  • First Aid Certificate
  • CPR Certificate

Record Keeping

Family First Care will securely maintain:

  • Timesheets
  • Progress notes
  • Incident reports
  • Participant agreements

Participant Rights

Participants have the right to:

  • Be respected
  • Make choices
  • Feel safe
  • Access quality supports
  • Make complaints without fear

Review

These policies will be reviewed annually or when legislation changes.
